Next, we board the Peru Rail Vistadome Observatory Train for a scenic ride through the majestic Andes, leading us closer to the ancient marvel of Machu Picchu. Location: Overnight Flight to Peru
and meet your tour manager in the Toronto airport for your connecting flight. After departing Toronto, we
will have a brief layover in Lima continuing onward to Cusco, where stunning views of the Andes greet us
as we approach. Adjusting to elevation is a customary process today and local teas and leaves will help your
breathing. Please note: altitude medication can help but all guests are to check with physicians before taking
any such medication.

which sits at an elevation of 11,200 feet.
• Transfer from the airport to our hotel will be included
today. Our hotel is the beautiful 5-star JW Marriott Hotel
located in Cusco historic centre offering a blend of
historic grandeur and modern comforts. This luxurious
boutique hotel is housed inside a restored 16th-century
convent and features two exhibition halls filled with
ancient Peruvian artifacts.
• Your tour manager will take care of the check-in process,
distribute the room keys and have your luggage sent to
your rooms – all a part of the Collins Tours signature
service you will receive throughout the tour.
• You will have the remainder of the day at your leisure to relax and acclimatize to the change in altitude.
Please ensure you avoid drinking alcohol and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated to lessen the
symptoms of altitude sickness. Also, it is recommended to drink coco tea and coco leaves to help prevent
altitude sickness.

• Following breakfast, meet your local professional guide, tour manager and fellow travellers in the lobby
for our tour of Cusco and nearby ruins. Be prepared for the excitement of touring the ancient capital of the
Inca Empire with its delightful combination of Inca and colonial architecture.
• Please note that because access for larger vehicles is limited in Cusco’s historic centre, our sightseeing will
begin with a guided walking tour. This allows us to comfortably explore key landmarks including the Plaza
de Armas, Qorikancha, the Temple of the Sun (entrance included), Cusco’s Cathedral (entrance
included), and the lively San Pedro Market. After the walking portion of the tour, we will meet our driver
and continue by motorcoach to visit the nearby archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay,
and the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress (entrances included).
• Once our guided tour concludes, we will return to our hotel for lunch (on own) where you will enjoy the
remainder of the afternoon at your leisure.

• Please note: Before going to bed, everyone must pack accordingly, as our train ride tomorrow
requests that you only bring one carry-on bag per person weighing up to 12kg and measuring a total
of 115 cm (height + length + width). Our checked luggage will be put in secured storage at the hotel and

• After an early morning breakfast, meet your tour manager and fellow traveller in the lobby for our private
transfers via minibuses to the Wanchaq Railway Station in Cusco. Please note that your Peru Rail ticket
includes Bimodal Service, which combines travel by private bus and train departing from Cusco. From
Wanchaq Station, a private Peru Rail bus travels to Ollantaytambo Railway Station (approximately 2 hours),
where you will board the train for the scenic journey to Aguas Calientes (approximately 2 hours and 21
minutes).
• This morning, you can enjoy your Vistadome Observatory train ride through the Andes! The Peru Rail
Vistadome Observatory train offers a unique and luxurious experience including an open-air balcony where
you can breathe fresh air and feel closer to nature. It features traditional music as you enjoy the stunning
panoramic views (a box containing a selection of exquisite snacks such as cookies, bars, chocolates
and a choice of a hot or cold beverage are also included).
• You will journey through the sacred valley of Urubamba to the "Lost City of the Incas," Machu Picchu.
Perched 8,200 feet above the valley, it was hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for 400 years
until discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911. Archaeologists believe that the Inca "Virgins
of the Sun" took refuge from the Spanish Conquistadors here.
• Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes train station (Machu Picchu
Pueblo) we will head directly to our hotel for a buffet lunch
(included). Please note that Aguas Calientes is a compact
town with very limited vehicle access, mainly reserved for
shuttle services to Machu Picchu, so we will walk from the
train station to our hotel, just a short five-minute stroll.
• Porters will be awaiting our arrival at the train station and
walk with us to the hotel. They will take our luggage once
we arrive at hotel and deliver it to your rooms during lunch.
• After lunch, we will begin our bus transfer (included) to the
top of amazing Machu Picchu for our guided tour of the
ancient Inca ruins - a definite highlight of your tour! (entrance tickets and guided tour included) Please

will spend approximately 2.5 hours on site. Please note that all guests must be able to walk unassisted,
as the visit involves some uneven stone paths, steps, and walking throughout the complex.
• We will return as a group to the amazing 4-star El Mapi ByInkaterra Hotel for two nights, later this
afternoon.
• Meet your tour manager this evening after some rest for another fantastic group dinner (meal, beer or
wine are included). Time to share your stories with your new friends about the breathtaking scenery of
Machu Picchu.
Location: Machu Picchu (B, Group D) ***Visit to Machu Picchu Citadel
• Wake up this morning and enjoy another buffet breakfast (included).
• For those wishing to return to Machu Picchu for a deeper look, please join your tour manager on an optional
second day visit to the citadel. This experience follows a different route than our first included visit,
revealing new perspectives and areas not seen the previous day. The visit is self-guided, allowing you to
explore at your own pace, take photos, and fully enjoy the setting on your own terms. With fresh viewpoints
and a new path through the site, this second visit offers a memorable way to experience Machu Picchu from
a different angle.. Please note that all guests must be able to walk unassisted, as the visit involves uneven
stone paths, steps, and continuous walking throughout the complex. (Price TBA).
• This afternoon, we return to our hotel in time for lunch (on own).

were left in Cusco will be waiting for you upon your arrival.

Location: Sacred Valley (B, Group D)
• Today, we will take a full-day guided tour of the Ollantaytambo and Moray ruins, with some free time to
shop in one of the local artisan markets.
• Pay close attention as we pass through the unspoiled, picturesque Andean communities on our way to
Moray, the Incan agricultural experimental center. Famous for its striking sunken amphitheater of four
circular terraces, Moray unfolds before us like an immense, artfully crafted crater carved into the earth.
Our journey continues to the impressive Maras salt pools, where mineral-rich water flows from deep within
a mountain in the Urubamba Valley, forming a breathtaking patchwork of evaporating ponds dedicated to
centuries-old salt extraction. We will learn about ancestral techniques, which are still used, in agricultural,
irrigation and salt recollection tasks, as well as in Andean festivals and rites.

Cusco airport for our flight to Peru’s capital, Lima. (For guests who have purchased Collins Tours’ All-

• Lima is known as the "City of Kings" and famous for its Spanish Colonial architecture and cuisine. Lima is
internationally recognized as the "Gastronomic Capital of the Americas", and its cuisine is considered
among the world’s most diverse.
• Upon arrival in Lima, we will transfer from the airport to our luxurious 5-star hotel for the next two nights,
the JW Marriott Lima. This hotel is just steps from the scenic Malecón (coastal promenade) with panoramic
Pacific views and easy access to the upscale Larcomar shopping and entertainment center making it
convenient for exploring Lima’s cultural sites.

In modern Lima, enjoy a scenic drive through the exclusive
residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro,
