Following our stay in Budapest, our private motorcoach will transfer us to the ship as we get set sail on the Avalon Tranquility II on the beautiful Danube River.  With an overnight on the ship, take in the beauty of Budapest for another full day while enjoying some free time exploring such famous sights as the Chain Bridge or enjoy a Guided City Sightseeing tour of Budapest, including the iconic Heroes’ Square. Get to know the city’s cafés and pubs or take a hike through the hills above the Danube.

Next up its welcome to Slovakia! Today we are in Bratislava, the beautiful capital of Slovakia, rich in history and culture, but also a green city with its forests and parks just a hop away from the city center. Explore the city on your own or perhaps take a Guided City Walk through the quaint streets of Old Town, Town Hall, and the sight of royal coronations at St. Martin’s Cathedral. Tonight, we make our way to Vienna. Welcome to majestic Vienna! Explore the Habsburg empire with a morning Guided City Tour of Vienna’s gilded landmarks. See the Imperial Palace complex—Winter residence of the Imperial Family, the grand Vienna Opera House and stunning St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

Take advantage of the overnight in Vienna and spend free time strolling in the pedestrian Kärntnerstrasse—the most famous shopping avenue in central Vienna. Take a bike ride through the city and stop in a local café to enjoy Sachertorte or Apfelstrudel. We continue our stunning European river cruise to Durnstein - Wachau Valley.  

 In Dürnstein, hike up to the castle ruins to take in the spectacular view of the village, Danube, and the Wachau Valley below or perhaps join a Guided Walk, and hear the legendary tale of King Richard the Lionheart—who was imprisoned in the castle here during the Crusades.  Perhaps take in an excursion in the Lower Austrian little town of Ybbs as you walk through the doors of Austrian history.  Later, enjoy live entertainment on board your ship as we make our way to Linz. As we spend an overnight in the legendary and lovely Linz, consider taking one today's activities. You may want to take a Guided Walk through the city’s historic and beautiful sites along the shore of the Danube and see Hauptplatz—Austria’s largest medieval square—and the towering white-marble Trinity Column. Or perhaps consider a full-day Guided Optional Excursion to Salzburg—the city of Mozart, or to the picturesque Bohemian town of Cesky Krumlov.

On to Schlogen Oxbow - Passau, Germany where the Danube, Inn and Ilz Rivers meet.  Perhaps take a guided city walk into Passau, the beautify "City of Three Rivers" or take some time to explore Passau's cobblestone streets and galleries of Artists' Alley or perhaps top at the St. Stephen's Cathedral to catch a concert rehearsal. 

Tonight, we cruise to Vilshofen. Disembark your river cruise in Vilshofen this morning, where we continue with our tour for an additional 2-night stay in Prague at the 5-Star city-centre Marriott Prague Hotel.  Explore this elegant city with a locally guided tour.  Take in the old town square, the Charles Bridge and the incredible astrological clock located in the old town.  During your free time in this stunning city, explore the best of Prague and its wonderful history and museums. You end your stay in Prague before our departure back to Canada.
